There
I was at the pharmacy getting two prescriptions filled thanks to an
allergist who hadn't done a single test. Not for me, for my fourteen
month old daughter. Yet she didn't hesitate to write out Singular and
an inhaler for her based off what I told her: Amelia had RSV two
months ago and the coughing at night won't go away. The allergist
told me what the parting nurses at the hospital had two months prior:
Looks like she'll have childhood asthma...might not grow out of it
until three or four years old. They gave breathing treatments and
inhalers to us as if they were candy.
As
a mother none of this felt right. Because my daughter had RSV when
she was twelve months old meant she needed two different drugs in her
system? No thank you. What did I do next, you ask? I searched the
Internet like every tech savvy mama does. And what I found was
something I already had in my medicine cabinet. Essential oils! Off I
went with eucalyptus in our cool mist humidifier at night. I made a
salve with coconut oil and various essential oils. Hot steamy showers
to help the crud out. It seemed to help (a little) but after two
months, I went back to the Internet and discovered another
suggestion. Essential oils. But this time the site had a whole slew
of people raving about doTERRA's essential oils. Was there really a
difference in essential oils though?
For
me, all I needed was experiencing the oils first hand to see if
they'd work as everyone swore they would. Within minutes of putting
the Breathe blend on my daughter, she had a runny nose and was
pushing all that accumulated junk out of her lungs! Breathe is
doTERRA's respiratory blend which has Laurel
Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Tea tree, Lemon and Ravensara. It can
be diffused or applied topically. This single bottle of Breathe was
all I needed to convince me doTERRA had something special that 'those
other brands' didn't!
